Following months of anticipation, rumors and leaks, Apple has finally unveiled the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 plus.
The pair of devices – which will come with 5.5 and 4.7-inch retina HD screens – was touted as ‘a huge step forward for iPhone.’
The new devices will be available September 22 and feature front and back glass panels, built-in wireless charging, and the ‘most powerful and smartest chip’ ever in a smartphone.

‘Apple has always believed technology infused with humanity can change the world – No other device in our lifetime has has the impact the iPhone has,’ CEO Tim Cook said as he geared up to unveil the devices, which will start at $699 for the 64GB iPhone 8 and $799 for the iPhone 8 Plus.

Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing, took the stage to introduce the new features and specs.
‘iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are a new generation of iPhone that improve on everything we love about iPhone,’ he said.

The devices looks similar to the iPhone 7 but have glass on the front and back.
They will be available in silver, space gray, and the new rumored gold color.
Made from aluminium and steel reinforced glass, the new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are also sealed to be resistant to water and dust.
Both devices also boast new stereo speakers that are 25 percent louder than Apple’s previous devices.
Thee new Apple phones are not just beautiful, but powerful as well.
They feature a new A11 Bionic 64-bit chip with two high performance cores that are 25 percent faster than the A10 chip in the iPhone 7.
The iPhone 8 Plus has two dual 12MP cameras and a new portrait lighting mode that can alter lighting in an image by using AI to change lighting over the face. The devices also feature new color filters to make hues pop and True tone display

And while the A10 only had two high-efficiency cores, the new chip has four, and they’re 70 percent faster.
The GPU – which is used for machine learning tasks – is also 30 percent faster.
Both devices come with built-in wireless charging and are also compatible with hundreds of already available chargers.
Another major improvement is in the camera.
The iPhone 8 Plus has two dual 12MP cameras and a new portrait lighting mode that can alter lighting in an image by using AI to change lighting over the face.
These aren’t filters, but rather the phone is performing real-time analysis of light on the subject’s face.
There are, however, new color filters that will make hues pop.
The devices looks similar to the iPhone 7 but have glass on the front and back. They will be available in silver, space gray, and the new rumored gold color. The iPhone 8 is going to start at $699 for 64GB
Pre-orders begin September 15, and the new devices will be available September 22. The iPhone 8 Plus is going to cost $799 and more
In regards to video, the devices feature 4K video at 60 frames per second as well as an improved slo-mo feature that reduces 1080 videos to 240 frames per second.
The A11 chip along the iPhone 8 Plus’s new cameras and two new sensors – f1.8 and f2.8 – were designed for augmented reality.
The A11 Bionic CPU handles world tracking, scene recognition and the GPU enables incredible graphics at 60fps, while the image signal processor does real-time lighting estimation.
To demo this, Schiller used the MLB At Bat app, pointing the phone at the field to learn who was playing and find out other player information.
