She has been taken to Waverley Police Station where she is expected to be charged.

A post-mortem found the 56-year-old had died from strangulation and a stab wound to the neck.

The woman arrested alerted neighbours to the crime so they would ring the police, ABC News reported.

The probe was reopened in 2017 after a NSW coroner referred it to cold case investigators.
