Is Gladys Berejiklian about to take her relationship with Arthur Moses to the next level?

Is Gladys Berejiklian about to take her relationship with Arthur to the next level? Ex-Premier’s lawyer beau sparks speculation they may move in together – after buying a $7.2MILLION mansion

  • Former NSW premier’s romance with barrister reportedly moved to next level
  • Arthur Moses previously represented Gladys Berejiklian at a corruption inquiry
  • He spent $7.2million on new north Sydney home, close to Ms Berejiklian’s house

Former NSW premier Gladys Berejiklian’s romance with the barrister who represented her at a corruption inquiry is rumoured to have moved to a new level.

Arthur Moses – Ms Berejiklian’s senior counsel when she first gave evidence to the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) – has bought some very fancy digs for $7.2million on Sydney’s north shore.

And the word is the couple may have plans to live together.

Mr Moses’ new home has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a swimming pool and majestic views of Sydney’s Middle Harbour.

It definitely has plenty of room for Ms Berejiklian to upgrade from her home in Northbridge, not far from where Mr Moses has moved to.

Ms Berejiklian is now an executive with telecommunications company Optus, but has kept out of the limelight as she is still living under the cloud of the ICAC’s investigation into her dealings as premier.

Mr Moses did not represent Ms Berejiklian when she was the subject of a 2021 ICAC inquiry into her secret relationship with disgraced former Liberal MP Daryl Maguire.

That inquiry finished almost a year ago, but the original expectation that ICAC would announce its findings by last February proved to be wildly optimistic.

A new book on Ms Berejiklian shed some light on her relationship with Mr Moses, revealing she had feelings for him for years before they got together romantically.

‘Gladys has always held a torch for Arthur,’ a senior Liberal is quoted as saying in The Secret, by journalist Alexandra Smith.

News of the couple finally hooking up was broken in a social media post by Ms Berejiklian’s sister, Mary.

The staged photo of the then NSW premier and Mr Moses looking like they were in a 1950s period drama was posted to Instagram in June 2021.

In the soft focus photo, Ms Berejiklian and Mr Moses were seen sitting on a couch, their hands almost touching.

Ms Berejiklian is smiling at Mr Moses as he says something, while Mary pouts at the camera in the corner of the picture.

‘After work Friday feels with these two. Glad and her boo,’ Mary captioned the photo.

It was part of a plan to let the public know about the relationship without making a big deal about it.

It soon garnered a lot of column inches, though, when Ms Berejiklian announced she was stepping down as premier because she was subject to the ICAC investigation.

She later left politics entirely.

When Ms Berejiklian resigned in October 2021, she became the third Liberal premier to be forced from office due to an ICAC inquiry.

When she was appointed to an executive role at Optus last February, its CEO Kelly Bayer Rosmarin said the former premier was a proven leader who demonstrated strength, discipline and composure.

Ms Rosmarin said she believed Ms Berejiklian would be a ‘game changer’ in her new role.

But that role could potentially be clouded by an adverse finding by the ICAC.

Daily Mail Australia contacted Ms Berejiklian through her employer seeking comment for this story but the offer was declined.

Mr Moses was also contacted and did not wish to comment.

ICAC is investigating whether ex-premier Gladys Berejiklian…

1. Engaged in conduct between 2012 and 2018 that was ‘liable to allow or encourage the occurrence of corrupt conduct’ by former Liberal MP Daryl Maguire, with whom she was in a close personal relationship between 2015 and 2018.

2. Exercised her official functions dishonestly or partially by refusing to exercise her duty to report any reasonable suspicions about Mr Maguire to the ICAC.

3. Exercised any of her official functions partially in connection with two multimillion-dollar grants in Mr Maguire’s electorate, to the Australian Clay Target Association Inc and the Riverina Conservatorium of Music.
