Kevin De Bruyne has jokingly dismissed speculation that he wrote one of Drake’s new songs after fans were sent into a frenzy by a ‘K. De Bruyne’ being credited.

Drake’s album ‘For All the Dogs’ was released in October and the credit listings for its newly added bonus songs, part of the ‘Scary Hours 3’ EP, caused a storm.

‘Wick Man’ has been released as an added song on the superstar rapper’s album and ‘K. De Bruyne’ was given the third writing credit.

De Bruyne quipped that Drake ‘needed an assist’ and shared a photo of the two together on X, formerly Twitter.

However, he posted a second tweet saying: ‘All jokes aside, it’s not me! Huge fan though’.

Fans were speculating if Kevin De Bruyne had been given a credit for Drake’s song ‘Wick Man’, but he has since dismissed the suggestion

‘Man is everywhere, assisting both on and off the pitch,’ wrote one user on X, formerly Twitter.

Another said: ‘Kevin De Bruyne wrote a song for Drake on his new release. Grammy award-winning midfielder soon’.

One said: ‘He’s out here completing side quests’.

Another wrote: ‘Assisting Haaland on the field and Drake off the field’.

‘Is there anything Kevin De Bruyne can’t do?? Man’s writing raps for Drake now?’ one asked.

One Belgian publication, Le Soir, suggests that listing should actually read Kevin Durant, the Phoenix Suns basketball star who received a separate credit and is listed as the executive producer on his ‘Scary Hours 3’.

De Bruyne is currently out injured and has had surgery for a recurring hamstring problem.

He was withdrawn from City’s 3-0 win over Burnley at the start of the season and the estimates said he would be out for three to four months.
