Is this the best gym in Australia? Incredible fitness centre at Sydney’s $830million footy stadium

The new fitness centre at the $832 million Sydney Football Stadium is so luxurious some members are paying more than $20,000 to work out there.

The Sporting Club of Sydney at the newly-built Allianz Stadium is a state-of-the-art fitness and recreation facility that offers a wide range of state-of-the-art amenities to its members – and it could be the best of its type in Australia.

When they arrive at the club, members are greeted by a premium entrance with a reception and lounge area.

The club also features two squash courts, weights and cardio training gyms, group training rooms for yoga and cycle classes, a café with indoor and outdoor dining, fitness assessment rooms, and a virtual golf studio.

For those looking to take a dip, the Sporting Club of Sydney offers both an indoor heated pool and an outdoor 50m heated pool with bookable pool cabanas. The club also provides childminding services and a day spa with four treatment rooms.

After working up a sweat, members can relax in the hot spa, cold plunge pool, space-age sauna that uses infrared light to raise the temperature, a traditional sauna, or the steam room.

With so much to offer, it’s no wonder the Sporting Club of Sydney is one of the city’s most popular fitness destinations.

However, all this luxury comes at a price.

For those looking to become a member of The Sporting Club of Sydney along with access to ‘selected’ Swans, Roosters, Waratahs and Sydney FC regular season matches, the joining fee alone for a members and guest pass will cost at least $5000 under the Lifestyle package.

If you want unfettered access to the sporting club facilities and the sporting events at the new venue, Premier membership will set you back a cool $22,000 – and all spots have already sold out.

TikTok user cass.xx.b took viewers on a tour of the new Sporting Club.

‘Holy moly, this place is ridiculous,’ she said.

‘It cost $832 million to build this stadium and I kind of see why, it is lush.

‘This is my favourite part, there is a cold plunge pool and a hot spa right next to it.

‘There is also a steam room, infrared sauna and a regular sauna. Everything is just so beautifully designed. I’m pretty impressed, not going to lie.

‘The gym is huge. There is two levels, the top level has this indoor/outdoor feel which is really cool and the bottom level is more built like a weights room.

‘There is plenty of equipment, plenty of room for everyone, which is great.

‘There is even a karaoke machine, you can pick your own music at the gym, and a full spin cycle room.

‘There are two squash courts, each of which has a viewing area. There is also this virtual golf room.

‘The day spa looks amazing as. I’m a sucker for a good change room and these are beautiful.

‘There are two pools, one indoor, one outdoor. The outdoor one has these little cabana lounge things with TVs so you can watch the sport.

‘There is also a bar area which is connected to a terrace lounge.

‘There is also a cafe where we had breakfast and the eggs were a 10/10.’

Fox Sports sports presenter and journalist Tara Rushton, the wife of former NRL superstar Cooper Cronk, was also given a sneak peak of the new fitness and wellbeing centre before it opened.

‘This is what won me, the child minding facilities at The Sporting Club of Sydney. You can come, catch up with friends, work out, get a massage, play golf and pop your kids in here for a couple of hours of bliss,’ she said.

‘There’s a mind body studio over my should there, yoga and Pilates and a gorgeous day spa, some facials, massages – all the pampering.

‘This is one of two squash courts. It is state of the art, look at all this glass, it is just incredible.

‘Welcome to the gym, this is where all the weight training, the functional training is going to take place. There is a cycle studio over there with about nine big screens. You can cycle the Tour de France, the works.

‘It is the crème de la crème when it comes to working out.

‘Where else would you want to spend your Sunday?’
