With her little arms wrapped tightly around his neck, Sir Andy Murray enjoys a well-earned hug from one of his youngest fans.

The heart-warming image is believed to show the tennis ace with one of his two daughters.

It features in a forthcoming documentary that charts the Scotsman’s two-year journey back from a major hip injury.

Cameras followed the 32-year-old for the Amazon Prime Video documentary, Andy Murray: Resurfacing.

Viewers are given a glimpse of the extraordinary return the former world number one is making in a trailer for the programme.

Clips show an emotional Murray discussing how he feared that his playing days were over.

Others show him pre-surgery and during his recovery from his career-saving operation.

His mother Judy and brother Jamie both feature in the teaser, as well as his wife of four years Kim Sears and one of Murray’s on-court rivals Roger Federer.

The trailer also shows a glimpse of Murray embracing a little girl on a tennis court.

This is rare for Murray, who usually keeps his children and private life out of the limelight.

Earlier this month, Miss Sears gave birth to their third child, a son called Teddy. The couple already have daughters Sophia, three and two-year-old Edie.

The three-time grand slam winner has recently returned to tennis after he underwent hip resurfacing surgery in January.

He won the European Open last month and played for Great Britain in the Davis Cup last week.

Alongside the trailer, Sir Andy wrote on Instagram: ‘No matter how many times I break down, there is always a little piece of me that says, ‘No you’re not done yet, get back up’.

‘I’m not usually one for cheesy quotes and I don’t know who said it but this one resonates with me.

‘This is a story of my journey of the last two years… I hope you all enjoy it.’

Andy Murray: Resurfacing will be released on Amazon Prime Video on Friday.
