Is this the most extreme BELLY FLOP ever?

We all know belly flops can really hurt. But when you’re trying to show off, they can end up even worse.

Now though, one girl has taken it to the next level with a record-breaking attempt at the world’s most painful belly flop.

A video showing her effort makes for extremely uncomfortable viewing. 

But it’s not perhaps as uncomfortable as the girl herself would have been after walking away from this.

The girl launches herself from the 40ft high roadside into a lake in Jackson County, Oregon

In the clip the girl can be seen preparing to jump into a reservoir in Jackson County, Oregon, from a height of 40 feet.

Wearing only a bikini and some trainers, the girl launches herself from the roadside down into the lake below.

Attempting a back-flip, presumably for the benefit of the camera, she spins round rapidly in the air.

Flipping hell! The girl’s jump quickly goes from impressive to painful as she tumbles in the air 

But she can’t quite make it all the way around and ends up doing one and a half rotations leaving her perpendicular to the water by the time she hits it.

She then slams into the water creating a huge slap on impact and sending jets of water flying metres in the air behind her.

She survives the painful jump and is seen swimming to the shore. 

The nerve-jangling footage shows her smash into the water leaving a huge spray behind her as she goes under. Although it may look bad, the girl seemed to be OK after the horror dive as she could be seen swimming off through the water

Painful belly flops seem to be a remarkably common phenomenon across the western US.

A recent video shot in Colorado showed a woman belly flopping from over 80 feet. 

In fact, her injuries were so severe she needed to be airlifted to hospital after the dive.
