Fan-favourites Charlene Perera and Patrick Miller shocked viewers on Wednesday night when they revealed they’d failed to connect after filming their final vows weeks before.
And while the former ‘spouses’ said the split was because Patrick was overwhelmed by the experiment ending, a source has revealed there may be more to the story.
An insider close to the once-happy couple told OK! Magazine: ‘He’s (Pat) not quite the Mr Nice Guy he seems. They’re very different people.’

The source also suggested: ‘They never seemed like a real couple.’
While the pair shocked devoted fans by announcing their break-up, co-star Telv Williams claims he saw it coming.
He told the publication: ‘I knew Pat and Charlene wouldn’t work.’

During Wednesday’s explosive finale, Patrick and Charlene revealed that they hadn’t spoken to each other since filming their final vows, which saw them both vow to stay together.
‘We haven’t seen each other since we left the experiment,’ Charlene confessed to the experts.

‘For two weeks it was just complete radio silence,’ she continued.

Patrick responded by saying he was overwhelmed by the experiment and needed some time to unwind after filming wrapped.
‘It took me a few weeks to get back into the groove of things,’ he explained.
‘I didn’t talk to my mum, my family, my mates. I just needed my time to do my thing.’

However, the experts called him out on his reclusive behaviour, with Mel Schilling saying: ‘But Pat, you were in a relationship.

He then said that he didn’t like Charlene’s final vows, explaining that they felt like they came with ‘conditions,’ so he wasn’t comfortable leaning on her after the experiment had ended.
Charlene countered by saying that there weren’t any conditions on her vows, before the couple awkwardly said they’d just ‘see what happens’ moving forward.
