Is THIS the sign Erik ten Hag hasn’t lost Man United’s dressing room? Two stars ‘like’ posts from fans backing the under-pressure Dutchman after win over Luton

Eagle-eyed Manchester United fans caught two players ‘liking’ posts on X that suggest talk of Erik ten Hag having lost the dressing room is far from accurate.

Saturday’s 1-0 win over Luton means United are the most in-form team in the Premier League over the last five games and Ten Hag was a relieved man after another gritty affair.

The Dutchman’s relief was understandable given that pressure around his position has been escalating amid a disastrous Champions League group stage – they are bottom of the group following the most recent 4-3 defeat to Copenhagen – and a dismal defence of their Carabao Cup title with a 3-0 home defeat by Newcastle.

Nine defeats from 17 matches this season has seen some supporters raise doubts about the long-term suitability of Ten Hag – but the social media activity of two players suggests the dressing room remains right behind him.

Alejandro Garnacho was spotted ‘liking’ a post on X by @EBL2017 in which the fan called for ‘patience’.

‘I call for patience with Erik ten Hag,’ the post, liked by Garnacho, read.

‘Manchester United’s tactical display last night was their *BEST* of the season. Don’t let the fact that they went down to 10 men fool you otherwise.

‘They were sensational with 11 men & it was ENTIRELY down to Erik ten Hag!’

Garnacho made his Man United debut under Ten Hag and has come back into favour, starting both the Copenhagen defeat and the win over Luton on the left side of United’s attack.

Fans then soon spotted an interesting post in Luke Shaw’s likes.

The post, from JZthekid, read: ‘Players can’t finish but it’s obviously Ten Hag’s fault right? I hate Manchester United fans.’

Shaw subsequently removed the post from his likes after it gained traction on social media.

Saturday’s 1-0 win leaves United sitting in sixth in the table, five points off the top four.

For Ten Hag there was no denying that his players can make things easier in games like Luton, where they will dominate the ball.

‘We create many chances and we could have made life easier if we score goals,’ Ten Hag said.

‘In the first half, I observed four 100% chances. If you get the first, you get the second and it becomes easier.

‘I told them at half-time we are not taking risks. If you bring bodies higher on the pitch, the opportunity to score goals is higher.

‘It will come but with those four 100% chances, one has to find the net.’
