They say marriage is like a roller coaster – and at this Kent wedding venue couples can get in training for the experience.
That’s because it has its own fairground – the largest private funfair in the UK – boasting vintage rides, food stalls, retro carnival games, waltzers, dodgems, a big wheel, a helter-skelter and, for the ultimate in marriage training – a 35mph roller coaster, with a runaway train theme.
The venue is called Marleybrook House and its website promises that newlyweds will be ‘aching with laughter’.
There’s plenty to keep the little ones entertained, too. From children’s rides in the fairground to play areas with swings, slides, a climbing frame and a trampoline.
The quirky concept has attracted plenty of positive reviews, with guests saying they had a ‘blast’ at the funfair on Google Reviews and some couples describing it as the ‘best day’ of their lives.

One reviewer wrote: ‘We had the most amazing day at Marleybrook. The venue is beautiful and was the talk of the guests even before we had the crazy funfair.’
Once home to singer and actor Eartha Kitt, Marleybrook House was used for many years as a country haven for famous faces in show business.
It was bought by its current owners in 2006 and opened its doors for weddings and events in 2013.

The countryside retreat sprawls over 10 acres of gardens, with three different ceremony areas to choose from, including a garden terrace, a walled garden, and the indoor oak barn.
According to its website: ‘It is not surprising why Marleybrook House has been entertaining guests throughout its history.
‘As your guests soak up the quintessential English country setting, with budding blooms and a budding romance, it is almost like stepping onto the set of the Darling Buds of May.’
