He’s the singer who won the eighth season of The X Factor in 2016 and went on to represent Australia in the Eurovision Song Contest the following year. 

And almost five years after shooting to fame, Isaiah Firebrace has ditched his signature long hair and debuted a dramatic new look.

In photos exclusively obtained by Daily Mail Australia, the 21-year-old pop star looks remarkably sharp with a shorter ‘do.

‘I’ve been threatening for a few years to chop it off so it felt really good to finally do it,’ he said.

‘Sorry to those of you who loved the long hair – it will grow back!’ he added.

‘My neck’s been really cold for the first time in a long time but the change has been great.’

A year after winning The X Factor Australia in 2016, Isaiah placed ninth place in the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest with his rendition of Ringo Starr’s It Don’t Come Easy. 

Just before the Covid pandemic hit, he completed a 55-date tour of regional and central Australia, during which he spoke with Aboriginal school children.

He conducted a series of workshops with students during the day before performing concerts at night.

The Melbourne musician has since returned to the recording studio, releasing a new single called Blame On Me. 

He said of his latest release: ‘It’s one of my favourites and I am just so pumped to be able to share it with everyone.’

‘I hope my fans enjoy this as much I as enjoyed writing it with the DNA boys,’ he added, referring to production duo David Musumeci and Anthony Egizii.
