Isla Fisher’s post-divorce win as she pockets $1million from Sydney apartment sale in wake of split from Sacha Baron Cohen

Isla Fisher has pocketed almost $1million after selling her Sydney apartment amid her divorce from Sacha Baron Cohen.

The Australian actress, 48, announced the end of her 14-year marriage to British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen in April of this year.

In the wake of their split, Isla had been trying to offload her two-bedroom Woollahra apartment and managed to put through a sale last month after slashing the price.

Now, it has been revealed exactly how much Isla managed to secure for the art deco apartment, which she bought for $171,500 almost 30 years ago in 1995.

Isla has pocketed a generous $930,000 from the sale after it was originally listed for a $1.1million guide price at auction, according to reports.

Isla first listed the unit for sale in September, but was forced to slash the price twice before the auction was shelved due to a ‘soft’ market.

Following the auction’s cancellation, the apartment shed another $100,000 from its price guide before returning to the market at a stable $990,000.

The sale was eventually settled through a private negotiation on October 22, with Isla said to be ‘happy’ with the sale result.

Isla bought the property, set on the edge of Centennial Park, just one year after launching her career as Shannon Reed on Home and Away.

While working on huge Hollywood films like Wedding Crashers and Confessions of a Shopaholic, Isla used her Sydney apartment as a rental investment property.

It was last marketed in early 2021 for $400 per week, having been slashed from $680 a week amid the Covid-impacted rental market.

The apartment boasts a quiet and elevated rear position in the building along with a ‘spacious’ updated kitchen, bathroom and a master bedroom with built-ins.

Most recently, Isla had been living in western Australia with her now-ex-husband Sacha but is believed to be looking to relocate to north London.

Sources recently told The Daily Mail’s Alison Boshoff that she has a budget of £13million (AUD$24million) and was house-hunting in Hampstead.

Isla and Sacha jointly filed to end their marriage in 2023 and publicly confirmed their separation in April of this year.

Their statement read: ‘After a long tennis match lasting over 20 years, we are finally putting our racquets down.

‘In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage. We have always prioritised our privacy and have been quietly working through this change.

‘We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family’s wish for privacy.’

The couple first met back in 2001 and tied the knot in 2010, with the end of their marriage coming just a few years after relocating their family to Australia.

They share three children – two daughters and one son – who they keep out of the public eye.
