Israeli PM’s fresh look at Aust sex case

Israel’s prime minister has promised to take a fresh look at extraditing a former Melbourne teacher wanted in Australia for allegedly molesting her pupils.

Victorian premier Daniel Andrews says when he was recently in Israel he asked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about the case of Malka Leifer, who allegedly molested girls in ultra-Orthodox Jewish communities before she fled to the Middle East.

“The prime minister concluded that he would have a fresh look at it and he would do so without bias, and I’m very confident that is exactly what will happen,” Mr Andrews told reporters on Tuesday.
