Isuzu D-Max ute recalled over fire risk

Isuzu has issued an urgent recall for its popular D-Max dual-cab ute after a fire risk was detected.

The Federal government Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts issued a recall for the utes on Wednesday.

More than 8,000 vehicles built between 2021 and 2023 suffered a manufacturing issue that causes the fuel hose to rub against the engine oil level bracket.

If the hose is damaged, it could cause a fuel leak and dangerous fire.

Isuzu has recalled 8,000 D-Max dual-cab utes (above) built between 2021 and 2023 due to a serious fire risk

‘A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users or bystanders and/or damage to property,’ the recall states.

Isuzu urged affected owners to contact their closest Isuzu dealership to have the fuel hose and retaining clips replaced, free of charge.
