Italian swimmer Thomas Ceccon sends the internet WILD after baring his abs during the 2024 Olympics

Italian swimming star Thomas Ceccon has set social media ablaze during the Olympics – but not only because of his medal-winning performances in the pool.

The 23-year-old has already won gold in the 100m backstroke and bronze in the 4x100m freestyle relay.

But it was a slight wardrobe malfunction after stepping on to the podium that has seen Ceccon become an internet sensation.

As he joined his Italy teammates to collect their bronze medals, the world record holder lifted his arms above his head and inadvertently revealed his abs.

The image of Ceccon’s half-bare chest has gone viral, with the 23-year-old now a heart throb among many Olympics fans. Compilations of the swimmer have been created and posted across social media.

‘Thomas Ceccon is the best thing that ever happened in the Olympics,’ one fan wrote on X.

‘I’m not one for being swayed by the beauty of men or women. But, then, there’s Italian gold medallist swimmer Thomas Ceccon,’ another said.

‘No wonder he won that jawline probably split the water in half when he dove in,’ a third added.

Over on TikTok, one fan said Ceccon and his teammates resembled a line of ‘Calvin Klein models’.

The 23-year-old recently revealed that he told his coach – aged just 15 – that he wanted to win Olympic gold. He will compete in the 200m backstroke on Wednesday.

Earlier this week, French diver Jules Bouyer sent supporters into meltdown after a picture of his trunks went viral.

It shows him wearing a pair of very tight swimming trunks that shows off a rather bulging manhood. Fans on social media went wild with one claiming that it was the ‘only reason I love the Olympics’.

Another added, ‘I just really hope his speedo is getting paid time and a half,’ while a third quipped: ‘Those Speedo’s are working overtime at this point’
