Ivanka, a senior adviser to her father, has been traveling the country to promote the sweeping rewrite of the U.S. tax code that Republicans pushed through Congress late last year.
While the president and Republican allies have billed the tax law he signed as a victory for the middle class, Democrats have depicted the $1.5 trillion package as a payout to the GOP’s largest donors.
Ahead of Tuesday’s visit to New Hampshire, Ivanka took to Twitter to say she was ‘looking forward’ to the visit.
This Tax Day, she and Jared might want to take extra care to check that their tax returns are complete, since they were sued in federal court last year and accused of leaving out required information from financial disclosure documents.
Ivanka and Jared were named as defendants in the suit in their official capacities as advisers to the president. Attorney Jeffrey Lovitky, who filed the lawsuit in December 2017, said that the pair failed to disclose their financial interest in certain investment funds, and that in other cases, they disclosed an interest in an investment fund, but failed to include additional information about those funds.
