Ivanka Trump’s three-year-old son Theo pictured trying to run off Air Force One

Ivanka Trump has revealed that her three-year-old son Theodore almost escaped Air Force One, admitting she ‘narrowly avoided a major parenting fail.’

The first daughter, 38, took to Instagram to share photos of little Theodore being stopped by a Secret Service agent at the door of the aircraft after they returned to Washington, D.C. on Sunday following their holiday vacation in Florida.

‘Theo busted attempting a stealth exit from AF1 last night while I was distracted prying melted M&Ms out of my daughter’s hands,’ she captioned the snapshots on Monday, the day after their arrival home.

‘Thanks to the US Secret Service I narrowly avoided a major parenting fail!’ she added. ‘Hat tip to the eagle eyed photographers who busted my boy in action!’

The pictures show the Secret Service using his arm to stop Theo from running off Air Force One without his parents.

In the background, Ivanka’s oldest son, six-year-old Joseph, can be seen standing behind the Secret Service agent in the first photo and his little brother in the second.

Ivanka was such a fan of the photos she also posted them on her Instagram Story with the same caption.

The White House senior adviser returned to social media later that evening to share a video of herself on her flight from D.C. to Las Vegas, where she will be the keynote at the Consumer Electronics Show on Tuesday.

The first daughter’s attendance isn’t without controversy, however. The announcement that Ivanka will be speaking at the event was met with backlash, which many critics insisting she’s not qualified to lead a discussion on tech issues.

Ivanka is slated to discuss how the Trump administration ‘is advocating for employer-led strategies that invest in reskilling workers, create apprenticeships and develop K-12 STEM education programs’ during her presentation, ‘The Path to Future Work,’ according to CES.

The annual tech show is one of the largest of its kind, and an estimated 200,000 people are expected to attend this year’s conference.

The CES faced fierce backlash for not choosing female keynotes in 2017 and 2018, but this year people are slamming conference organizers for bringing in President Donald Trump’s daughter.

Many critics argued that the decision to have Ivanka serve as a keynote is an insult to women who have years of experience in tech.

‘There are a lot of women who are doing a lot of work to help women in tech and build products that help women and help children and families. Ivanka Trump is not one of them,’ Sara Mauskopf, the CEO of the child-care start-up Winnie, told the Washington Post.

Since it was announced that Ivanka will be a keynote at the show, critics have been taking to Twitter to threaten to boycott the event using the hashtag #boycottCES.

‘Fans of women in tech: “What an insult”: CES names Ivanka Trump as keynote speaker…. There are so many fantastic women in tech that the world needs to see and hear. Give them the stage, please. #boycottCES,’ one woman wrote.

‘It is insulting, given the sheer number of brilliant women in consumer electronics, that a woman of VERY limited business experience, NONE in CE, is chosen by the CEA as a keynote speaker, simply because she’s the President’s daughter #boycottCES #CES2020,’ another person commented.

Some tagged Gary Shapiro, the man in charge of the tech expo, as they slammed him for choosing Ivanka to be a keynote.

‘Hey @GaryShapiro, nobody wants to hear from a failed businesswoman whose products had nothing to do with consumer electronics, and whose sole claim to fame is that she’s the daughter of a serial business failure/racist/bigot/misogynist. Quit sucking up to the @GOP,’ one man wrote, adding the hashtag ‘#boycottCES.’

Despite the controversy, Shapiro told the BBC that he does not regret the decision, noting that Ivanka has done ‘great work.’

‘There’s a lot of focus on jobs of the future, and certainly the keynote that I’ll be doing with Ivanka Trump will be focusing on … how industry is working with government on this very important issue,’ he said.
