Jack Draper VOMITS on court after battling hard in his second set against world No 1 Jannik Sinner in US Open semi-final

  • The Englishman looked worse for wear each time he sat down on his bench
  • And his Italian rival looked little better, yelping in agony during treatment
  • Draper had lost the first set 7-5 in his first ever Grand Slam semi-final

Jack Draper has vomited on the court in the US Open semi-final as the English tennis star battles to get back into the game against Jannik Sinner.

The 22-year-old has been struggling out on the court at the Arthur Ashe stadium, appearing to bend over double on a couple of occasions in between points.

Draper seemed to be sick early in the second set, having lost the first to the Italian 7-5, but then clearly vomited in front of the TV cameras while the score was at 4-3 in his favour.

Meanwhile Sinner continues to struggle with a painful left wrist injury which appears to be hampering his backhand in the crunch match.

At one point, both sets of physios were attending to the players at the same time with the intense contest taking its toll on the two stars, who are friends off the pitch.

Throughout the set there was a slightly farcical ongoing discussion over whether Draper’s fluids should be cleaned up properly by ground staff.

Instead, a frustrated Draper insisted on wiping it up himself with his towel and treading carefully around the affected area during points.
