Jack P Shepherd has reportedly signed on the dotted line on a contract that secures his place on Coronation Street til the end of 2018, adding a hefty £20k extra to his annual salary.
The Sun has revealed that he will now take home £220k a year, making him, at age 29, the highest paid actor on the soap amongst the cast’s younger stars.
He allegedly earns a whopping £70,000 more than the likes of co-stars Simon Gregson, 42, and Kym Marsh, 41.

Jack has starred on the soap as David Platt – the son of veteran character Gail – for 17 years.
Arriving on the show in 2000, he was only 12-years-old, and has since taken part in drama-fueled storylines including feuds, an ‘evil David’ plot twist, a suicide threat and the murder of his wife Kylie.

The character was previously portrayed by Thomas Ormson, from the character’s birth in December 1990 up until March 2000.
Jack then took over and has played the part ever since.
Before taking on the role of David, Jack had appeared in episodes of Where The Heart Is and Clocking Off where he starred with his future Coronation Street screen sister Tina O’Brien.

In real life, Jack is engaged to his girlfriend Lauren with whom he has two children, Nyla born 2009 and Reuben born 2013.
He had another child after an affair in 2010, Greyson James, born 2011.
