Jackie ‘O’ Henderson confronted live on-air by woman whose life she ‘ruined’ 24 years ago

Jackie O Henderson was left red-faced when she was confronted live on air by a woman who claimed the radio host ruined her life.

The 49-year-old co-host of the Kyle & Jackie O Show was left red faced on Thursday when she came face-to-face with a former Popstars contestant who made the shocking accusation.

Angie Chase, 53, appeared in the first-ever episode of Popstars in 2000 when she was only 29 years old.

Jackie, who was a judge on the reality show, overheard Angie practising for her audition in the bathroom and brought a film crew in to capture how great she was.

Angie was asked to sing Celine Dion’s ‘My Heart Will Go On’ for Jackie and the judges when the radio star hinted that she’d get through after already bonding. But it didn’t quite happen that way.

Following Angie’s performance, a then 19-year-old Sophie Monk auditioned with the same song, which prompted Jackie to drop Angie and choose Sophie instead.

After watching Sophie’s successful career from the sidelines, Angie decided to confront Jackie 24 years later live on-air during KIIS FM’s ‘Remember Me’ segment.

‘You chose Sophie over me!’ Angie began.

Jackie’s co-host Kyle Sandilands then added, ‘Sophie went on to have a very successful singing career.’

Sophie joined Bardot, one of the biggest girl bands in Australia, after forming on Popstars back in 1999.

The group fell apart after just a few years and disbanded in early 2002. But Sophie went on to pursue her television career.

Angie then detailed how her life turned out compared to Sophie’s.

Angie detailed how her life turned out compared to Monk's. 'She became The Bachelorette. I became a spinster who lives in Woy Woy with a cat and a fake Louis Vuitton bag! That should've been real! That's from the Bali Louis Vuitton store.' Pictured on the show in 2000

Jackie then wondered whether Angie has any jealousy about Sophie Monk’s career.

‘So do you look at Sophie often and go, “That should’ve been me! If that b***h Jackie would’ve just chosen me!”?’ the radio queen asked.

‘I can’t look at a rose without having a nervous breakdown,’ Angie replied.

After Jackie asked what Angie does for a living now, the former Popstars contestant said, ‘I’m a hairdresser. Thanks Jackie. I had to go back to TAFE.’
