Jacqueline Jossa’s ‘business under investigation as her company owes more than £32,000 in tax’

Jacqueline Jossa’s business is being investigated after the company was put into voluntary liquidation owing more than £32,000 in tax, according to new reports.

The former EastEnders actress, 27, wound down her company Pooker Bash Limited in 2019, and is said to owe the sizable amount to HMRC in VAT and corporation tax reports The Mirror.

Pooker Bash Limited was set up in January 2013 to handle payments from her former role as Lauren Branning in EastEnders, which she played from 2010-2018.

Tough time: Jacqueline Jossa’s business is being investigated after the company was put into voluntary liquidation owing more than £32,000 in tax, according to new reports

Jacqueline is said to have been paid £75,000 to take part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2019, which she won – with the company wound up before she took part.

Official documents were lodged with Companies House last with a liquidator writing:  ‘Examinations have identified a number of payments from the company that require further investigation and explanation from the director, and enquiries are ongoing.’

A further document said it was possible the sum would not be paid, writing: ‘It is unlikely that there will be a dividend payable to creditors.’

A source told the website that Jacqueline is ‘fully co-operating with the liquidator’s queries and that the investigation was purely routine and did not relate to tax bills.’

Mailonline has contacted Jacqueline Jossa’s representatives for comment.

Jacqueline has seen her career soar since winning I’m A Celebrity, landing several lucrative deals.

She has landed multiple clothing ranges with online retailer InTheStyle, launched a tanning line with BPerfect Cosmetics, and scored a deal with dairy brand Arla.

Back in July, Jacqueline revealed that she finally ‘doesn’t care’ about being a size 12 to 14 as she opened about her journey to finding body positivity in an honest video.

Jacqueline said she has finally accepted her curves, but didn’t rule out the idea of hitting the gym.

She thanked fans for the support she received since sharing the unedited images of herself in Ibiza, admitting that she wrestled with the decision as to whether she should post them, but after doing so, she felt like a weight had been lifted.

In the caption for her unedited bikini photos shared earlier that week in the summer, Jacqueline wrote: ‘It’s taken a while but I’ve learnt to love both angles.

‘You guys know me by now and I’m as normal as they come. I’m a working mum and a size 12 and I can’t walk around looking perfect all the time and I’ve accepted that’s completely fine.

‘So this is just a little reminder to all us women that EVERY body is a bikini body and the perfect instagram pics we see isn’t always the reality, sometimes it’s just good lighting and good angles!’

Jacqueline divulged that she had previously turned down work because she felt uncomfortable being photographed in a bikini.

She said: ‘I also had turned down the chance to do a swimwear range with @inthestyle earlier this year as perhaps wasn’t comfortable shooting it….

‘But I changed my mind & decided I wanted to create something I was comfortable with and only wanted to shoot it if we could keep it real and honest.’
