Jacqui Lambie has revealed she will defend herself with knives stored around her house in the event of a home invasion.  

The controversial ex-Senator made the shock admission on Studio 10 on Monday, adding she would ‘fight like hell’ to defend herself if faced with an intruder. 

‘There are four different places around the home where I have four knives hidden,’ she said, adding: ‘I won’t have any problem in admitting that.

‘If you come into my house – I’ve had ice users standing in front of me – and you’re up against all odds and you’re fighting for your life…you’re going to fight like hell to defend yourself.’

Co-host Joe Hildebrand backed the Tasmanian’s stance, saying self-protection is a ‘no brainer’ when it comes to home intruders.  

Ms Lambie’s comments come after Sydney father Francois Schwartz confronted a barefoot intruder at his home in the city’s south-west on Sunday morning. 

The South African-born businessman, 44, discovered a man in the lounge room of his newly-built home in Harrington Park – and a fight soon erupted, police said.

The intruder, 35, lost consciousness in the fight and later died, officers said.

Two neighbours ran to the home after the owner’s wife raised the alarm and unsuccessfully tried to revive him using CPR until paramedics arrived. 

Mr Schwartz was seen getting into a police car and was taken for questioning by detectives at Narellan Police Station.

He remained there for much of the day before being released at about 6pm Sunday without charge, pending further inquiries, a NSW Police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia.
