‘If you come into my house – I’ve had ice users standing in front of me – and you’re up against all odds and you’re fighting for your life…you’re going to fight like hell to defend yourself.’

Co-host Joe Hildebrand backed the Tasmanian’s stance, saying self-protection is a ‘no brainer’ when it comes to home intruders.

Ms Lambie’s comments come after Sydney father Francois Schwartz confronted a barefoot intruder at his home in the city’s south-west on Sunday morning.

Two neighbours ran to the home after the owner’s wife raised the alarm and unsuccessfully tried to revive him using CPR until paramedics arrived.

Mr Schwartz was seen getting into a police car and was taken for questioning by detectives at Narellan Police Station.

He remained there for much of the day before being released at about 6pm Sunday without charge, pending further inquiries, a NSW Police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia.
