Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson’s son, Josh Pederson, is set to make his NFL debut on Monday Night Football. 

The Jaguars are elevating tight end Pederson from the practice squad, according to a report from Tom Pelissero. 

The younger Pederson will now make his debut against the Cincinnati Bengals Monday night. 

The Jaguars are unlikely to have rookie tight end Brenton Strange available for the MNF matchup after he injured his foot last week. 

Strange, the No. 61 overall pick in the 2023 draft, sustained the injury during practice Friday and did not practice on Saturday.

‘Yeah, it was just during our one-on-one. Ball was noncontact, he just landed wrong on his foot. He’s been receiving treatment, feels better today. Got a lot of time between now and Monday night, so we’ll see where he’s at,’ coach Pederson said.

However, it doesn’t appear to be good news for Strange after Josh was elevated on Monday. 

Josh played all 10 games during the 2023 USFL season for the Houston Gamblers, catching 25 passes for 325 yards. he ranked third in receiving yards among tight ends. 

He previously played collegiately at Louisiana-Monroe, where h caught 99 passes for 1,191 yards and 11 touchdowns. 

He went undrafted in the 2021 NFL Draft before signing with the San Francisco 49ers. 

He also had spells with the Kansas City Chiefs and the New Orleans Saints.
