When Sainsbury was still facing two decades behind bars, Mr Broadbridge was unwavering in his devotion to his jailbird fiancee.
‘I’ll wait. She would do the same for me,’ he said in a 60 Minutes interview.
‘I am willing to be there through to the end, and I’ve told her that. That’s how I feel.’
With time already served, plus her work in jail, Sainsbury could be released in as little as three years.
Despite the shorter sentence, it is understood she could also spend two years living in Colombia on parole after leaving the prison.
Sainsbury was also ordered by the judge to pay a nearly $130,000 fine.
