Jailed Stephen Bear ‘moved to isolation wing for vulnerable prisoners’ and is being ‘treated with kid gloves,’ insider claims

  •  Stephen Bear, 33, has reportedly been moved over concerns for his welfare
  •  The reality star is serving a 21-month prison sentence at HMP Chelmsford, Essex
  •  He was convicted this month for voyeurism and two counts of ‘revenge porn’

Jailed reality TV star Stephen Bear has reportedly been moved to an isolation wing over concerns for his welfare.

The 33-year-old former Celebrity Big Brother winner is currently serving a 21-month prison sentence after selling a private sex video of him and his ex-girlfriend, Georgia Harrison.

Bear shared the sex tape – which had been captured on CCTV on August 2, 2020, in his garden without Ms Harrison’s knowledge – on adult website OnlyFans and made £2,000 from it.

He was convicted earlier this month for voyeurism and two counts of ‘revenge porn’ before being sent to HMP Chelmsford, Essex.

According to sources, staff are now ‘on orders to keep an eye on’ Bear, who has been identified as a vulnerable prisoner, The Mirror reports.

The insider said: ‘Bear is being treated with kid gloves.’

They added: ‘There’s always a concern about high-profile prisoners. Everyone in here knows what he’s done and how he fancies himself as a celebrity.’

Two weeks ago, a source close to the reality star said he was a ‘broken man’, has been ‘crying for days’ and is on suicide watch, because he never imagined he would be jailed.

The source added he was ‘completely unprepared’ for being behind bars, believing he would have been spared a prison sentence if convicted.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Bear was on a plan for prisoners who are at risk of self-harm or suicide, which includes regular cell checks and a buddy system.

Miss Harrison, 28 – a contestant on 2017’s Love Island – said she was unaware of the tape’s existence until men began telling her they had seen it.

She waived the right to anonymity afforded to her under the Sexual Offences Act, saying she felt compelled to as so many people knew of the video.

Judge Christopher Morgan jailed Stephen for 21 months and gave him a restraining order not to contact Miss Harrison.

The reality star was also ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register and will be subject to notification requirements for 10 years.

Following the sentencing on March 3, the deputy chief crown prosecutor for East of England, Hannah Von Dadelszen, said that Bear will be forced to ‘sell any assets he has’ to pay back the £2,100 made on Miss Harrison’s video.

Despite his conviction and sentencing, his fiancée Jessica Smith has vowed to remain at Bear’s side ‘through thick and thin’ as she claimed he did not receive a ‘fair trial’.

MailOnline has approached the Ministry of Justice for comment.
