‘Soon we will see how well Tyron can swim’: Jake Paul promises to DROWN Woodley with punches when they meet in the ring this summer… but the former UFC champion is eyeing a third-round knockout
- YouTuber Jake Paul has yet to be beaten in his three professional fights in boxing
- He is coming off the back of defeating Ben Askren in a first-round win in April
- And Paul believes Tyron Woodley is in for the same fate in their August meeting
- But the former UFC champion believes he will end the YouTuber’s unbeaten run
Jake Paul claims he will look to take Tyron Woodley ‘into deep waters’ when they face each other in the ring in August.
Paul, 24, has yet to lose any of his three professional fights and is coming off the back of a first-round technical knockout win over Ben Askren in April.
The YouTube star’s second-round defeat of Nate Robinson in November last year was the longest period of time one of his fights has lasted, with a first-round win coming against YouTuber AnEsonGib 18 months ago.

Paul is coming into the bout having defeated Ben Askren in a technical knockout win in April
But now Paul believes Woodley is set for the same fate and believes he can drown him with his ‘overwhelming’ qualities in the ring.
‘My pro fights haven’t lasted long, but in sparring, I love taking my opponents into deep waters and drowning them with my overwhelming cardio, consistency, and precise punch selection… Soon we will see how well Tyron can swim,’ Paul wrote on Instagram.
However, former UFC welterweight champion Woodley has backed himself to knock Paul out inside three rounds when he makes his professional boxing debut on 28 August.
The bout will be Woodley’s first fight since he was let go by UFC in the aftermath of four successive defeats at the hands of Colby Covington, Kamaru Usman, Gilbert Burns and Vicente Luque respectively.

But the 39-year-old is nonetheless confident that he is the man to end Paul’s unbeaten record and get his hand raised for the first time since September 2018 when he beat Darren Till at UFC 228.
Asked what round Paul will go down in, Woodley told the ‘Believe You Me’ podcast: ‘I think three.
‘First round sounds cocky, sounds dope, but I just know that if I’m fighting Tyron Woodley, everyone is going to tell him to cover up, weather the storm, clinch him, grab him, keep him away from you, stay at distance, watch out for the right hand.
‘I’ve got to set a couple of traps so I may need a round or two to set some traps, see what he responds to and I think third round I should be able to clean up the deal.’
A venue has yet to be set for the fight, but it is expected to take place in Miami.
