Jake Paul is just hours away from the biggest fight of his career as he prepares to take on legendary heavyweight Mike Tyson at the AT&T Stadium in Texas.
Whether the fight should even be happening is up for debate, given that Paul is 31 years Tyson’s junior and the former two-time world champion has not had a professional bout in almost two decades.
But there is no doubt that Paul and Tyson are two of the biggest names in boxing, and millions of fans are set to tune in to see how the fight plays out when it is streamed live on Netflix on November 15.
The anti was upped 48 hours out from the fight, too, when Tyson shockingly slapped his rival at the weigh-in for the bout.
Paul’s rise is even more remarkable as he started out as a YouTuber, and only stepped into the ring for the first time less than five years ago. Alongside his boxing career, he has grown his brand to become one of the most talked about athletes on the planet.
Mail Sport has taken a look at the 27-year-old’s life away from the ring ahead of his showdown with Tyson.

Net worth
Paul started out as a YouTuber and also has several businesses, but it is his boxing career that has taken him to the next level from a financial perspective.
He was paid an estimated $40million (£31m) to fight Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley twice in 2021, which led to him being listed as the 46th highest paid athlete in the world by Forbes in 2022.
Forbes also ranked him 12th on their list of Top Creators earlier this year. According to recent estimations, Paul is currently worth around $80m (£63m).

Businesses
Paul has got involved in a number of business ventures to increase his appeal away from the ring.
He teamed up with entrepreneur Geoffrey Woo in 2021 to set up Anti Fund, a venture capital firm. Anti Fund have invested in defence technology by working with Anduril Industries, who aim to sell their product to the US Department of Defense.
As he made his way in boxing, Paul then founded the promotional company Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) in 2021 alongside his business adviser Nakisa Badarian.
He promotes multi-weight female world champion Amanda Serrano, and was heavily involved in her thrilling fight with Katie Taylor at Madison Square Garden in April 2022. The rematch between Serrano and Taylor will take place on the undercard of Paul’s fight with Tyson.
In addition to his promoting, Paul also set up Boxing Bullies, with the aim to combat bullying among youths.
In 2022, Paul continued to explore his business options by founding a sports-media and mobile-betting company named Betr.
And he wasn’t done there, as in June 2024 he launched his own personal care brand called W.
Paul partnered with UFC star Sean O’Malley as he launched W, and the products can be found in the retail store Walmart.

Cars
Major sports stars tend to like splashing their cash on cars, and Paul is no different.
Paul treated himself to a blue Lamborghini Huracan back in 2017, with the supercar valued at up to £260,000.
He also owned a £330,000 Ferrari for all of one day before returning it after driving it a little too hard.
He has continued to spend big money on cars over the years, with another Ferrari, a Tesla and a Rolls-Royce all being part of his collection.
In total, Paul is estimated to have spent well over £1.5m on cars as his career has hit new heights.

Luxury home
Paul spent an eye-watering £12m on a mansion in Puerto Rico last year.
He reportedly bought it off former MLB star Yadier Molina, and it is a stunning property.
Paul’s home has eight bedrooms and 12 bathrooms, as well as a large garden area. He also has a huge BBQ patio area and three Bugatti scooters, in addition to an enormous garage for his car collection.
Paul trains at a local gym in Puerto Rico, but also has a giant swimming pool and gym to allow him to work out from home if he wants, as he gets into prime condition for his fight with Tyson.

Controversies
It would be fair to say Paul is not universally popular, and he has had several brushes with the law.
Back in January 2018, he posted a video on his YouTube channel titled ‘I lost my virginity’ with a thumbnail of him and his then-girlfriend Erika Costell posing semi-nude together. He was criticised for his thumbnail not being appropriate for his younger viewers, and it was later changed. Just two days after this incident, Paul sparked more controversy by repeating a racial slur while freestyle rapping.
Paul has also faced multiple scamming allegations during his career. He started his own website Edfluence in 2018, which was designed to teach young people how to be successful. However, the $7 (£5.53) per user course did not unlock the whole program, and only offered a few basic tips instead.
A year later, he promoted the website MysteryBrand alongside fellow YouTuber RiceGum. The site was supposed to allow users to win prizes, but many claimed they never received the prizes they won.
Paul then settled charges for over $400,000 (£316,000) last year for allegedly promoting cryptocurrencies without disclosing that he had been sponsored to do so. He neither admitted nor denied the claims.

Paul also angered some fans during the Covid-19 pandemic by throwing a party at his home in California despite restrictions being in place at the time.
He would later go on to declare in an interview with The Daily Beast that Covid-19 was a ‘hoax’.
Meanwhile, back in 2021, two women came forward to claim they had been sexually assaulted by Paul.
TikTok personality Justine Paradise alleged Paul forced her into oral sex and touched her without her consent back in 2019. Paul responded to the claims by insisting they were ‘100 per cent false’.
Model and actress Railey Lollie then accused Paul of calling her ‘jailbait’ and groping her when she started working for him at the age of 17.
Love life
Paul has had two high-profile relationships since bursting onto the scene.
He started dating YouTuber and internet personality Tana Mongeau in April 2019, and two months later the couple announced they were engaged.
They exchanged vows in July 2019 in a ceremony filmed by MTV for No Filter: Tana Mongeau, which was available for $50 (£39) on pay-per-view.
However, they had not obtained a marriage license, meaning it was not legally binding. Paul and Mongeau announced their split in January 2020.
Paul is now in a relationship with Dutch speed skater Jutta Leerdam. They went official in April 2023 after first meeting via Instagram a few months earlier.

Paul and Leerdam attended the Paris Olympics together this summer, and regularly post photos of themselves as a couple on social media.
Leerdam has admitted she is scared for her boyfriend ahead of his fight with Tyson.
‘I think you’re going to win but he’s the competitor that is the most scary to me,’ she explained on the BS with Jake Paul podcast.
‘For me, if I look at him, he’s scary, he’s super strong and I’ve seen, like, videos of him. Of course he’s a little older now, but if you’ve ever been able to do that your body remembers it. He has that power forever.
‘If someone started a few years ago in speed skating, they couldn’t even participate in the world championships. That’s not even possible, so what Jake is doing is already crazy, seriously.’
Political views
Paul appealed to his 4.6m followers on X to vote for Donald Trump in the US election last week.

Taking to the social media site last Monday, Jake wrote: ‘This election is good vs evil. America as we know it will self implode if Harris wins. It will be the start of a long & treacherous American era.
‘A sheep will spend its entire life fearing the wolf (Trump) only to be eaten by the shepherd (Harris). DON’T be a sheep. Wake up and read deeper. Go vote good. Go vote Trump tomorrow.’
After Trump’s victory was confirmed, Paul hailed the result as a ‘massive step in the right direction’.
Trump was joined on stage at his victory speech in Florida by a number of high-profile sports figures, including UFC president Dana White and golf star Bryson DeChambeau, but Paul was not in attendance as he was busy finishing off his training camp.
