It, the new horror movie based on the popular 1986 novel of the same name by Stephen King, has been setting box office records since its release this month.
And James Corden decided to cash in on the popularity of the film, dressing up as the murderous clown character Pennywise for a skit called The IT Department.
In the hilarious clip, which was aired on his Late Late Show on Wednesday night, the 39-year-old comedian was seen in full clown regalia – including a pasty white face with bold red markings and a voluminous copper wig.

However, unlike the homicidal character, James’ version was a much less scary clown, who had mistakenly showed up to fix his colleague Tim’s laptop, after he called the switchboard for help from the IT department.
After making a sinister and frightening arrival, James appeared a lot less intimidating as he conceded: ‘Oh, I see the problem. You’ve called the IT department and I’m It. So there’s been a mix-up. It’s not your fault. It happens all the time.’
However, he still had frightening moments, when he suddenly appeared in the producer’s filing cabinet, before rising up from behind his desk baring a red balloon.
Not the version of IT he wanted: In the skit, called The IT Department, he mistakenly answered his colleague Tim’s call for somebody to fix his laptop issues
Seeing double: Pennywise the clown is portrayed by Bill Skarsgård, left, in the new movie, and James did a gallant job of modelling his costume on the character’s distinctive look
The original: Meanwhile, Tim Curry took on the iconic role in a 1990 TV miniseries of the horror
Not so scary: During the skit, James’ version of the murderous clown proves to be not too scary
After James suggested that the balloon may have been blocking Tim’s WiFi signal, an exasperated Tim grabbed the balloon and popped it – covering him shirt in a thick red substance.
‘Oh come on, everybody knows you don’t pop a murderous clown’s balloon – that’s on you,’ James mockingly said in response to Tim declaring that he had a meeting.
In the end, Tim made another call down to IT, but instead for another horror movie character: Freddy Krueger, who explained: ‘I turned over a new leaf. I went to night school and got a degree in computer sciences.’

After looking at the laptop, Freddy observed: ‘I see it’s in sleep mode. Good news for me,’ before slashing and throwing the laptop on the ground as a messy fix.
He then turned to James and asked if he wanted to go out for lunch, to which the clown responded: ‘Sure. I haven’t eaten since I had those four kids for breakfast. I’m kidding – granola!’

James’ spoof came two days after he paid homage to Gwyneth Paltrow’s ritual of steam cleaning her private parts, when he tried out the intimate regime on his show, after the actress crept up behind him while he was mocking her website Goop.
A real fright: After Tim called again for the IT department, he ends up getting Freddy Kreuger

The comedian hilariously began his Monday night show by poking fun at the star posing topless and covered in mud for Goop’s first $15 print edition.
He told the audience: ‘I can’t believe Gwyneth Paltrow beat out all the others to be on the cover of Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop. Pretending to be ‘down to earth’ is Gwyneth Paltrow’s best performance yet.’
As he carried on with his jokey repertoire and showed off a doctored front cover, reading Poop. the Oscar-winning star shockingly walked out and crept up behind him.
Crossing her arms in mock outrage and standing in silence, looking leggy in a metallic minidress, it was only a matter of seconds before James realised she was behind him.

She continued: ‘It is an energetic release—not just a steam douche—that balances female hormone levels. If you’re in LA, you have to do it. ‘
Earlier this week, Gwyneth released the sensational nude shot of herself for the cover of her new Goop online magazine.
Taglined ‘Earth to Gwyneth’, the shot was the centrepiece of Goop’s first printed edition.

Alternative: The magazine is aimed at women hoping to improve their health and well being
It showed the topless Oscar winner lying on her back, one arm behind her head as she gazed into the lens.
While her flawless skin was highlighted with minimal make-up, the 44-year-old preserved her modesty with a healthy heaping of dirt – smeared from her neck downwards over her bikini bottoms.
Gwyneth shared the cover to Instagram on Friday morning, reminding fans they could pick up a copy of the quarterly publication next week on September 19.
