James Corden has hinted a much-loved Gavin And Stacey star ‘will die’ in the Christmas Day special.
The actor, 46, has sparked fears Uncle Bryn will pass away in the hotly-anticipated episode.
Stacey’s Uncle Bryn, played by Rob Brydon, 59, has been in the show since its 2007 pilot – but it seems his time is up as James speculated his funeral scenes have been filmed.
James told The Mirror: ‘What we were editing today was a very moving and emotional scene at Bryn’s funeral. I’m joking, I promise. Or am I?’
Adding to the new speculation, Rob previously revealed he was ‘moved to tears’ by the script of the last ever episode of Gavin And Stacey.

Speaking to Chris Evans in August, Rob said of the final episode: ‘First of all, we knew it was going to happen, but we were told we had to keep it a secret. So you have to lie to people!
‘It’s a horrible feeling, because you don’t want to lie to somebody right in the face.’
He continued: ‘It was a couple of months before the cast saw the script. I only saw it, we were on holiday, we were away, about a month ago. I read it. Oh, it’s so good.’
When BBC Radio’s Chris asked Rob if he was saying that because he had to, Rob replied: ‘No, I kind of wouldn’t, actually. I don’t want to tempt fate, but I think it’s fantastic.’
He revealed: ‘Do you know what? I was moved to tears, because it’s emotional.’
James, who plays Neil ‘Smithy’ Smith in the BBC hit sitcom, wrote and directed the show alongside co-star Ruth Jones, who plays Nessa Jenkins.
The show returned in 2019 for a festive special which ended on a cliffhanger which Nessa proposed to Smithy and will be back on screen over the upcoming Christmas period to answer all questions.
Filming has since taken place in Barry Island, Wales, and it recently wrapped up, with the cast bidding a final farewell to the show.

Filming for the series finale first began on September 2, and since then the cast have been pictured in a string of locations, including the famous Barry Island in Wales, which takes centre stage in the iconic comedy.
One of the main plot points that’s emerged appears to be Nessa’s wedding, which could provide an answer to the cliffhanger that ended the 2019 special.
Stars Ruth and James were said to be filming scenes for a wedding last month.
However, the cast themselves have yet to confirm if Smithy and Nessa will indeed get their happy ending.
The cast recently confirmed that they had finished filming scenes on the famous Trinity Street, which acts as the backdrop for the homes of both Stacey and Gavin, her mother Gwen and uncle Bryn.
‘You haven’t seen anything because we’ve been indoors, which shows you’re true committed fans of the show and we hope that you won’t be disappointed on Christmas Day, when all will be revealed,’ Ruth told fans.
‘This is our farewell now to Barry and to Trinity Street, so you won’t be seeing us here anymore but we’ve had a wonderful 17 years, it’s been fantastic.’
