James Corden roasts his mother about her BOTOX as his parents join audience to support final show

James Corden celebrated his final show of CBS’ The Late Late Show on Thursday, where he took a playful jab at his own mother Margaret.

Both of James’ parents – Margaret and his father Malcolm – made the trip across the pond for the final episode, as the 44-year-old comedian acknowledged them in the audience when starting his monologue.

‘My mom and dad are here. Are you okay, mom, dad, are you holding it together?’ he asked his parents.

His mother Margaret – who raised the late-night talk-show host with her husband in Hazlemere, Buckinghamshire – said she was fine… for a moment.

‘Until you ask me to give you a kiss before we came on and then I was gone,’ Margaret said, while holding back tears, when Corden made a Botox joke.

‘I didn’t even know you could move your face that much since all of your Botox,’ he said as the crowd started laughing, as Margaret responded, ‘Oh piss off.’

Corden added, ‘She said to me last night, she said we would still be able to come out here and she said why?’

‘She said there is a certain collagen for my lips that I can’t get at home,’ he said as both of his parents laughed.

After a brief rundown of humorous news stories, Corden offered heartfelt thanks to anyone who has watched his show over the past eight years.

‘We have given it everything and I’m so thankful, truly, to each and every one of you who has watched our show night after night here on CBS. Dan, Stephanie, William. That’s it, really,’ Corden joked.

He was even surprised with a message from United States President Joe Biden before starting the final show in earnest.

‘James, congratulations on an incredible run. 1200 shows in the eight years. But after a day spent working for me at the white house. I am surprised you lasted eight years,’ Biden joked.

‘To you, Reggie, and the entire team, thank you for all the joy you’ve brought to homes across America,’ Biden added.

‘And a special thanks for never asking me to sing in the car. I can’t sing worth a damn,’ he added, referring to his popular Carpool Karaoke segment.

‘We’ll miss you, pal. I can’t wait to see what you do next,’ the Commander-in-Chief concluded.

Corden took over The Late Late Show for Craig Ferguson in March 2015, using a format similar to the U.K.’s The Graham Norton Show, featuring all of his guests sitting together.

Shortly after Corden announced he was leaving the show, CBS revealed they were dropping The Late Late Show altogether, opting for a revival of @midnight – which previously aired on Comedy Central – to replace The Late Late Show.
