And fans can expect another action-packed adventure for the second flick as James Marsden and Tika Sumpter were spotted filming an explosive scene of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 in Canada on Monday.
The 47-year-old actor — who portrays Sheriff Thomas Michael Wachowski — was in full sprint for one scene with Tika, who plays his wife Maddie, on set in Fort Langley, British Columbia.

James looked classically cool in a pair of jeans and a white T-shirt, with a heavy brown coat worn on top of a loose flannel.
Tika sported a pair of skinny jeans with a bright red tank top and a black jacket as she ran around the rubble.
At one point, both actors took a break from filming and wore protective face masks amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The original film, based on the video game franchise published by Sega, starred Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic The Hedgehog and Jim Carrey as Doctor Robotnik.
Director Jeff Fowler is coming back for the second film, in addition to screenwriters Pat Casey and Josh Miller.
Sonic, which debuted in US theaters on Feb. 14, also set a new mark as the highest-grossing video game film adaptation of all time in North America.

It was among the first slate of films pulled from theaters and released early on home entertainment due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The digital version of the movie was released on March 31 and topped the American Blu-ray and DVD charts for several weeks, earning more than $40million alone.
The second film is scheduled for release in the United States on April 8, 2022, through Paramount Pictures.
