James McClean was seen arguing and pointing with Mansfield supporters during a heated post-match clash after Wrexham’s FA Cup win on Saturday.

The visitors triumphed 2-1 on the night thanks to goals from Paul Mullin and Sam Dalby, however that didn’t stop McClean from getting involved in a heated argument after the final whistle.

The 34-year-old could be seen, in a video that appeared on X, arguing with Mansfield fans as tempers boiled over and the full-back had to be restrained by staff.

McClean was shouting and pointing at the supporters who stood in-front of the stands and appeared to be indicating for them to confront him on the pitch.

Staff intervened and the former Premier League star was ushered down the tunnel before anything could happen. It’s unclear what caused the issue between McClean and the supporters.

Towards the end of the video, one Mansfield fan can be seen climbing on the barriers and almost heading onto the pitch, before a steward prevents them.

The post-match scenes marred the FA Cup tie, where Wrexham triumphed 2-1 thanks to goals from Mullin and Dalby, with Rhys Oates scoring a consolation for the hosts.

It marked yet another win for Phil Parkinson’s side, who are undefeated since the end of September.

At the start of the month, the latest episode of the hit documentary series ‘Welcome to Wrexham’, charting the highs and lows of their ownership of the Welsh football team, was released on streaming services.

In it, owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney jokingly wished ‘handsome’ Notts County striker Macaulay Langstaff would ‘f**k off’.

In previously unheard conversations prior to a season-defining match-up against promotion rivals Notts County, it was National League top scorer Langstaff that was the target of their frustrations.

‘Macaulay Langstaff, he can f**k off,’ McElhenney said bluntly.

‘Yeah, god that guy is good. He’s handsome as f**k. He looks like he could be in Peaky Blinders,’ Reynolds said in response, with McElhenney concurring that it is ‘bulls**t’.

The episode tracks the rollercoaster emotions in the fan-base, as well as the ups and downs of the day for the Hollywood pair, up in their Aviation Gin suite at the stadium.
