He’s invested $50million in his Mexican getaway, but according to neighbours, James Packers’ sprawling new property resembles ‘a maximum security prison’.

The 54-year-old billionaire businessman has almost completed renovations on the luxury property in Cabo San Lucas, on the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula.

James first bought the land back in 2018, with construction taking three years.

But some of his neighbours aren’t impressed by its grandeur.

‘It looks more like a maximum-security prison, to be honest,’ said one neighbour.

New photos of the property exclusively obtained by Daily Mail Australia show a sprawling one-level estate with uniform pavilions, all tucked behind an imposing wall.

A large infinity swimming pool sits against one part of the fence, which backs on to the beach.
