James Trethewie awkward on his date with Sophie Monk

He is one step closer to winning Sophie Monk’s heart after coming out on top in the Real Man Games challenge on The Bachelorette. 

And on Thursday’s episode, James Trethewie was treated to a quick kiss on the lips from the blonde beauty.

Speaking of the rather uninspiring smooch, the 31-year-old took to Instagram to confess that he was ‘so awks’ around Sophie and didn’t want to appear like a ‘creep’ during their date.

‘I’m so awks around you Soph haha. feel like I really missed the opportunity here to properly ‘kiss’ you !!!’ he wrote next to a picture of the pair canoodling. 

‘I remember thinking I didn’t want to be a creep and try pulling a move… completely missed the cues or just too scared to potentially be hurt & rejected.’

He went on: ‘Fingers crossed for a single date now to redeem myself, I feel like I’ve earnt it… getting burnt in the fire, greasy, sunburnt, & dressing up as a bald fat monk in a fat suit.’
