Jamie Carragher took to Instagram to poke fun at Barcelona after the club tweeted their confidence in scoring at Anfield shortly before slipping to a shock Champions League semi-final defeat.

However, a Georginio Wijnaldum double and a late Origi winner dumped them out of the competition having held a 3-0 aggregate lead.

The club had stated that, should they score, Liverpool would need five goals, and asserting that they would definitely score at least one.
Liverpool great Carragher was clearly delighted with the result and happy to mock their misguided tweet, posting an upside-down smiley face emoji and four footballs.
Fellow supporters were also quick to lampoon the Spaniards, one tweeting: ‘Massive L’, while another said: ‘Bet Coutinho is so pleased he left. Back to back Champions League finals missed!!’
A third took particular delight in the roles of the goalscorers, both forced into action due to mouting injuries for the hosts, saying: ‘You were schooled by Wijnaldum and Origi lads!’
