Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen is hopeful of winning his battle to be fit for the Champions League final.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side were handed a triple boost after Vertonghen, Harry Kane and Davinson Sanchez all joined in Wednesday’s training session as they continued their rehabilitation from injury.
Vertonghen sustained an ankle injury in the euphoric semi-final win over Ajax on May 8 and was viewed as a doubt for the final against Liverpool on June 1.

But the Belgian is said to be 60/40 in favour of proving his fitness for the clash in Madrid next month with growing optimism the central defender will be available.
The fact Vertonghen was named in Roberto Martinez’s Belgium squad for the games against Kazakhstan and Scotland provides another indication towards the 33-year-old being available for the Champions League final.
Kane is also expected to be fit for the clash against Jurgen Klopp’s team, his participation in Wednesday’s session another positive step in the right direction.
The next stage for the England captain is to reintegrate into contact work with the rest of the first team squad.
Sanchez is suffering from a thigh problem and is working towards being fit for the final.
