Jay-Z took an aggressive lyrical shot at Trayvon Martin’s killer George Zimmerman in his latest track, Top Off.
The 48-year-old rapper’s harsh words came after Zimmerman, in December – claiming the rapper had a camera crew illegally trespassing on his property – vowed he would leave the rapper for dead if he continued with the intrusions.
On Friday, the Brooklyn-based artist answered back in the new song, which DJ Khaled produced.

Pulling no punches: Jay-Z, 48, (L) takes an aggressive shot at Trayvon Martin’s killer George Zimmerman, 34, (R) in his latest track, Top Off.
He rapped of Zimmerman, ‘Georgie Porgie sinnin’ and sendin’ me threats/ Save your breath, you couldn’t beat a flight of steps/ Try that s*** with a grown man/ I’ll kill that f***boy with my own hand.’
Zimmerman, 34, told the Orlando Sentinel December of the hip-hop icon: ‘I would beat him as if I was Solange and he would find himself coming out of the south side of a gator if he comes to Florida and bothers my family.’
The Florida man’s reference to Solange was in regards to the fight she was in with the rapper in a New York City elevator after the 2014 Met Gala.
Zimmerman told The Blast that late last year, Jay-Z dispatched a camera team led by executive producer Michael Gasparro to homes owned by his parents and uncle in ambush fashion and ‘harassed’ them.
Zimmerman told the outlet, ‘I know how to handle people who f*** with me, I have since February 2012’ – presumably referring to his fatal shooting of Martin, 17, that month.
Making a statement: In his new song, Jay-Z rapped that he’d ‘kill that f***boy with [his] own hand’
Rebuttal: The song came in response to Zimmerman’s threat last year to leave Jay-Z for dead if they ever crossed paths
His bold statement toward Jay-Z late last year prompted a response from Jay-Z’s rap peer Snoop Dogg, who vowed via social media that ‘if one hair on Jays hair is touched that’s when the revolution will b televised. … Trayvon Martin Gone but not forgotten.’
Zimmerman, who claimed self-defense in his slaying of the unarmed teenager, was subsequently acquitted of second-degree murder in July of 2013.
The camera team was presumably on hand to film the six-part documentary titled Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story, which will be made by Paramount Network.
Master of many trades: Jay-Z was seen performing at the 2014 Grammys
On a related note, the documentary was initially slated to be a collaboration between Jay-Z and producer Harvey Weinstein, but the producer was removed from the project amid the dozens of accusations – ranging from sexual harassment and abuse to rape – he’s faced the past six months. (Weinstein has denied all allegations of non-consensual sex.)
The series was linked to another controversy in recent months, as it’s based off the book Suspicion Nation: The Inside Story of the Trayvon Martin Injustice by lawyer Lisa Bloom.
Bloom admitted on The View last November that Weinstein’s decision to adapt her book into a miniseries last spring had clouded her judgment in her initial decision to represent the disgraced mogul amid his harassment case.
She resigned in October days after the initial stories broke, as dozens of other women emerged with horrific tales detailing their experiences with the producer.
‘I’m mortified I was connected to him in any way,’ Bloom said of Weinstein.
