Sick as a parrot! Jealous pet makes its feelings known when owner taunts it by showering a toy bird with kisses
- Footage captured by owner Alexandrea Sharpe-Thompson in Ontario, Canada
- Her husband kisses a black toy bird and the parrot, named Shadow, gets jealous
- It runs up his bare chest to get between him and the toy and then pecks his lips
This is the hilarious moment that a jealous parrot gets between its laughing owner and a toy bird as he tries to kiss it.
In the video, which was posted on the bird’s Instagram page by owner Alexandrea Sharpe-Thompson, the parrot is seen walking up her husband’s bare chest to stop him from kissing a black toy bird.
The laughing man, based in Ontario, Canada, makes loud kissing noises and presses the toy to his mouth before the parrot, named Shadow, pushes it out of the way.
A jealous parrot named Shadow walks up its owner’s chest to stop him from kissing a toy bird. It then pushes its lifeless rival out of the way before pressing its break to his face and lips
It then presses its own beak to his face in an attempt to show its own affection before the man picks it up and drops it away from his face.
He then continues to kiss the toy before Shadow, described as a white-bellied Caique – a small species of parrot – runs back up his chest to stop him.
It again pushes the toy out of the way and lightly pecks his lips and cheeks before he repeats the trick again and laughs.
But the man, the husband of Alexandrea Sharpe Thompson, based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, picks Shadow back up and drops him back down his chest before kissing the toy again. Shadow runs back up his chest to get between him and the toy before the man repeats the trick once more
However, the upset bird continues to fall for the joke several more times and at one point stands near the man’s shoulder to watch him kiss its toy rival again.
The bird’s Instagram page has nearly 30,00 followers and features hundreds of photos and videos of it enjoying itself with Mrs Sharpe-Thompson and her husband.
Mrs Sharpe-Thompson previously said: ‘It takes a lot of time and repetition – and nuts – to train Shadow, but I definitely think it was worth it!’
