Jeff Daniels and Peter Sarsgaard on director Woody Allen

In light of the #MeToo movement and Time’s Up initiative, both Jeff Daniels and Peter Sarsgaard revealed Monday they will never work with controversial director Woody Allen again.

Daniels acted in two of the 82-year-old filmmaker’s movies Radio Days (1987) and The Purple Rose of Cairo (1985), for which he scored his first Golden Globe nomination.

‘It’s a difficult decision because of Purple Rose of Cairo,’ the 63-year-old Emmy winner said on MSNBC’s Meet the Press Daily.

‘That movie will always be a great experience, a great movie for me, and he will always be a great American filmmaker. I got to work with him at the age of 30 and it changed my life. All of that and I believe Dylan Farrow. Would I do another one with Woody? The difficult decision would be to turn him down because of Purple Rose.’

And Sarsgaard – who has two daughters with wife Maggie Gyllenhaal – memorably played wealthy widower Dwight in Blue Jasmine (2013).

‘I’ve already done a Woody Allen movie. No,’ the 46-year-old Golden Globe nominee told host Chuck Todd.

‘It’s such a complicated question. I mean, I believe people when they say, “I was assaulted or molested” or something like that because I don’t think you really have any other choice. Because if we start not believing people, it’s a slippery slope. They say that it’s very, very rare for somebody to make something like that up, so I would rather err on that side.’

On January 16, 32-year-old Dylan repeated her ‘credible’ allegations on CBS This Morning, and Woody’s son Ronan penned the New Yorker’s exposé on another alleged sexual assaulter Harvey Weinstein.

But Dylan’s 40-year-old brother Moses denied she was ever abused and shockingly revealed that his 73-year-old adoptive mother Mia had actually abused him in a January 4 WordPress post.
