Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb reveal their daughters’ funny remarks

Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager are both raising young girls, and the two moms admitted that their daughters sometimes catch them off guard with their funny remarks.

The Today hosts were chatting about their kids’ candid comments on Tuesday when Hoda, 55, revealed her three-year-old daughter Haley pushed her to weigh herself in front of her — and she had to grin and bear it after learning she had put on a pound.

‘Haley was in the bathroom yesterday, and she stood on the scale and she goes, “Thirty-four. What do you weigh, mama?” Hoda recalled.

The mother of two admitted that she tried to change the topic, but her inquisitive daughter wasn’t having it.

‘I go, “No, it’s fine. We’re just gonna finish our bath.” And she goes, “What do you weigh?” So I’m like, “I’m gonna be body positive. I’m going to stand up there.’

The hosts both stepped on scales on live television in November, and Hoda recalled how shocked she was when she learned that she weighed 157 pounds.

Hoda and Jenna both vowed to lose weight, but the former admitted that she had actually put a pound since that time.

‘It was 158,’ she said of the number on the scale.

Rubbing it in: The mom, who weighed 158 pounds, recalled Haley asking her: 'What's 1-5-8?'

‘It was at night,’ she added: ‘I never weigh at night, and I stood there and I go, “See, Haley! It’s all good.” She goes, “What’s 1-5-8, 1-5-8?”

‘I was like, “Stop saying it. That’s enough.”‘

While Hoda wasn’t pleased with her weight, Jenna insisted she looks ‘great.’

‘I don’t believe in those scales,’ she said. ‘I was looking at a picture of your arms…I mean, you’re thin.’

Jenna, 38, had a similar experience on Thursday morning when her six-year-old daughter Mila came into her room while she was getting dressed for work.

‘She goes, “Mommy, why does your underwear give you a wedgie? Mommy, you need bigger underwear,”‘ she recounted. ‘And I go, “What? Mila you’re making me very uncomfortable.”

‘She’s like, “You need bigger underwear. Those don’t cover your booty.”‘

Jenna noted that all of this happened before 5:45 a.m. — and even her mother, former first lady Laura Bush, got involved.

‘I FaceTimed my mom, and [Mila] was putting the phone on me to show my mom. My mom’s like, “I’m gonna send you some of mine.”‘
