Jenna Bush Hager reveals her friend MADE OUT with a Secret Service agent

Jenna Bush Hager revealed that she once had a friend make out with a Secret Service agent while reminiscing about how Katie Holmes called her when she was prepping for her role in the movie First Daughter in the early aughts.

The Today star, 41, sat down with Holmes and Julia Mayorga to talk about their new film Rare Objects on Wednesday’s show when her co-host Hoda Kotb brought up the 2004 rom-com.

‘When you research a role, you research a role,’ Kotb told Holmes. ‘And I don’t know if you remember back when you played a first daughter… I want to bring you back cause that was very important.

‘So here it is. Jenna so happened to be a first daughter during this time. And Katie, in your research, did you ever reach out to a young lady named Jenna Bush? And try to get a little intel?’

‘I believe I did,’ the actress replied with a smile.

In the movie, Holmes played Samantha MacKenzie, the daughter of the U.S. president, who unknowingly falls in love with the undercover Secret Service agent her father put in charge of protecting while she’s attending college.

Looking for some insight into the character, she reached out to Bush Hager, whose father, former President George W. Bush, served as commander-in-chief from 2001 to 2009.

When Holmes was researching the role, the real first daughter was a student at the University of Texas at Austin, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English in 2004.

Hilariously enough, when the Dawson’s Creek star called Bush Hager, she was watching the actress on the teen drama.

‘I was with my college roommates, we were watching Dawson’s Creek — I’m not joking — we turned it off and I’m like… “Who called me from LA?”‘ she recalled.

‘Listened to the message and it was Katie and I was too embarrassed. I mean also, had you come and done research, you would have been like, “Wow, this was quite boring.”‘

Bush Hager acknowledged that her life wasn’t as exciting as the movie, but she admitted the Secret Service romance plotline wasn’t totally off base.

‘I never fell in love with a Secret Service man,’ she clarified. ‘But I did have a friend make out with one.’

The hosts and their guests erupted into laughter over the revelation.

‘I am sure you did,’ Holmes replied. I mean, that seems like a job of a friend.’

‘Not appropriate for me, but a friend could,’ the former first daughter added of the makeout session.

At the end of the interview, Bush Hager apologized to Holmes for never returning her phone call two decades ago.

‘Why, because you were embarrassed?’ Kotb asked.

‘Well, my real life didn’t match the movie,’ Bush Hager explained. ‘The research would have been… gross.’

Holmes shared that First Daughter was ‘such a fun movie to do,’ saying she still looked to Bush Hager for inspiration even though they never connected.

‘I just felt like, “What is that like?” To carry that — you’ve carried it so beautifully,’ she told the Today host.

‘I’m going to cry,’ Bush Hager gushed.

‘We’re having a moment,’ Kotb noted.

‘It’s a girl party,’ Holmes added with a smile.
