Jenna Dewan gives update on mastitis struggle after receiving advice from fans: ‘Your suggestions were amazing’

Jenna Dewan took to Instagram on Monday, August 5 to share an update on her struggle with mastitis, a condition that causes swelling, pain, and warmth in the breasts — often from breastfeeding.

The 43-year-old actress — who recently returned to work, less than two months after giving birth to her third child on June 14 — shared new photos with her newborn daughter Rhiannon and acknowledged her fans’ support.

She wrote to her nearly 10 million followers, ‘All of your suggestions were amazing, thank you! What an experience to show how powerful and supportive we can all be for each other.’

The star, who was formerly married to Channing Tatum shared which remedies  soothed her chest.

‘This is what worked for me,’ she began before starting the list with ‘cold compresses, cabbage and thinly sliced potatoes after feeds.’

Jenna noted that the potatoes work to treat inflammation.

Continuing the collection of cures, she added, ‘Hot epsom salt baths to help with the shaking (that part was honestly wild),’ and included a photo of her point-of-view in the bathtub.

The veteran entertainer suggested ‘castor oil on breasts with warm compress over’ as well as a ‘probiotic 2x a day.’

Other suggested remedies were ‘vitamin C & E 3x a day, homeopathic remedy hepar sulfur and phytolaca rotating throughout the day.’

Armed with a new set of treatment she added, ‘MEDICINE! Ibuprofen and antibiotics.’

Nursing and pumping were also on the list, and she finished with ‘rest’ as her final tip.

‘REST (I know, I know — ‘who can rest?’ but even little naps helped),’ the star emphasized.

The post has so far collected more than 106,000 likes.
