Jenna Ortega returns to the Beetlejuice 2 set after SAG-AFTRA strike ended – after director Tim Burton revealed sequel was ’99 per cent’ complete prior to boycott

Jenna Ortega is back on the set of Beetlejuice 2 after SAG-AFTRA finally reached a tentative agreement with studios following 118 days on the picket line.

The actress, 21, was spotted shooting a few final scenes as the film, which is the sequel to the 1988 film starring Michael Keaton as the titular character, prepared to wrap.

She donned a colorful yet frayed knit dress teamed with biker shorts, knee-high socks and boots. Her hair was styled into a fashionable half-up, half-down look with curtain bangs.

Jenna, who plays the daughter of Lydia Deetz, was spotted riding a sleek Schwinn bike and jogging down the road.

She was seen on the set in Boston, Massachusetts on Wednesday.

The sequel was on the verge of being completed until the SAG-AFTRA strike halted production back in July.

Director Tim Burton, who also helmed the original, revealed they had just a day and a half of filming left before actors were instructed to cease performing.

‘I feel grateful we got what we got,’ he told The Independent. ‘Literally, it was a day and a half. We know what we have to do. It is 99 per cent done.’

The hotly-anticipated sequel also sees the return of Winona Ryder, who played Lydia Deetz, Keaton and director Tim Burton.

The original Beetlejuice film saw married couple Barbara (Geena Davis) and Adam Maitland (Alec Baldwin) die in a car accident, with their ghosts haunting their former home.

In a desperate attempt to keep their home from being taken over and remodeled by the Deetzes, they call upon the titular bio-exorcist (Keaton) to scare the family away.

The mischievous Beetlejuice then wreaks havoc on Charles (Jeffrey Jones) and Delia Deetz (Catherine O’Hara) as well as their daughter Lydia (Ryder) — who is the only one able to see the ghosts.

Since the release of the original film, it has been over three decades of deliberations and attempts to get a sequel off the ground.
