Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux were dog lovers.
During their seven year romance the 49-year-old Friends actress and the 46-year-old The Leftovers actor added several pooches to their family.
But now that the actors are separating after two years of marriage, they will have to decide who gets custody of the furry friends which include Dolly, Sophie, Clyde and a pit bull that Theroux has been seen with in NYC.

Jennifer has had her white shepherd mix Dolly since around 2005, which was long before she started dating the actor, who she first romanced on the set of 2012’s Wanderlust.
The Cake star has always been a fan of white German shepherds; ‘I thought they were beautiful and a great guard dog,’ she told Oprah in 2006.
In 2012 she and Justin together adopted pit bull mix Sophie from a shelter when she was just a puppy.

The dog is black and white.
‘She’s the most adorable little cookie you’ve ever seen,’ the actor has said. ‘She looks like she just smoked an exploding cigar.’
In April he shared a photo where he was hugging the animal. ‘Sophie is a lover not a fighter. Please join @ASPCA to #GetTough on dog fighting. Fought dogs live in isolation, spending most of their lives on short, heavy chains. No animal should be forced to fight to the death.’

But earlier this month he was seen walking another pit bull, a grey one, in NYC. The name of the dog is not known.
They also have Clyde. ‘Clyde, the little one, always sleeps at my feet,’ Jennifer told Self magazine in 2015.
Jennifer was seen with three of the dogs during a Smartwater Instagram shares last year.

She told Access Hollywood in 2005. ‘He doesn’t like to get in my bed. He sleeps in his bed. I could sleep in his bed, which I have done. I know it sounds insane.’
It is not known how they will split up the dogs.
But according to PetMD, the dogs usually stays in the main house they are used to living in.
Jennifer still lives in the Bel-Air mansion she shared with Theroux.
Though there have been reports that she is selling the home, a source told Entertainment Tonight on Friday the star has yet to list the large dwelling.
Justin seems to be living in New York City at the moment.
The decision to go their separate ways ‘was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year’, according to a statement released on Thursday through Jennifer’s publicist.
Jennifer became engaged to Justin in August 2012, and they married in a surprise ceremony at their LA home on August 5, 2015.

Last push? Jennifer and Justin were last pictured together during a holiday in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico back on January 1
The couple’s statement says they would have handled their separation privately, but they wanted to counter tabloid speculation and ‘convey the truth directly.’
They say they intend to maintain love and respect for each other.
Jennifer and Justin were last pictured together during a New Year’s getaway trip in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
It was claimed the pair had taken a crucial step to protect their multi-million dollar fortunes, with an ‘iron-clad’ pre-nup signed before their August 2015 wedding, reports US Weekly.
A source told the website: ‘Jennifer has an ironclad prenup with Justin. It would be very hard for Justin to contest it. The prenup talks before the marriage were long and intense. Jen’s assets and Friends fortune are protected.’
Jennifer, who is most famous for her portrayal of Rachel Green on iconic sitcom Friends, is worth an estimated $200m.
For the last two seasons of Friends, which ran between 1994 and 2004, Jennifer and her five co-stars were paid a record $1m a episode.
She has also starred in a string of hit films including Horrible Bosses, Bruce Almighty, and He’s Just Not That Into You and amassed an impressive property portfolio.
Justin, who has starred in TV shows The Leftovers, Parks and Recreation and Sex and The City, as well as worked as a screenwriter on films including Tropic Thunder and Zoolander 2, is worth an estimated $20m.
It definitely seems as if the power couple have spent plenty of time apart as the Mulholland Drive actor has been often spotted by himself in New York City which is away from their home in Los Angeles.
According to TMZ, the former Friends star was last seen at her estranged husband’s apartment in New York City’s Greenwich Village in October, with sources telling the website that she’d stopped regular visits as far back as August.

Meanwhile Jennifer celebrated her 49th birthday just days ago and Justin was noticeably absent in the photos shared on social media from the festivities in Malibu, California.
The Friends star was joined by gal pals Courteney Cox, Andrea Bendewald, Leigh Kilton-Smith and Kristin Hahn on Sunday.
The previous night Jennifer was spotted sharing friendly hugs and kisses with Pharrell Williams outside of Ellen DeGeneres’ star-studded 60th birthday party in LA.

On Monday, Theroux was spotted grabbing a coffee by himself in the Big Apple just a day after his now estranged wife’s birthday.
The shock split will come as a surprise to many as Justin had previously described Jennifer as his ‘ally’.
He shared with United Airlines’ Rhapsody magazine back in April 2017: ‘Marriage makes the small things much smaller and the big things small. You have an ally. It’s good to have someone have your back.’
The couple tied the knot in August 2015 and it was made ‘so much more special’ because they kept it secret.

Justin added: ‘It’s so much more special when it’s just your closest friends and family and it’s lovely. [Jennifer and I] wanted it to be a peaceful environment, you don’t want it to be hectic.’
Justin had admitted being married to Jennifer has had a calming effect on him.
He explained: ‘Obviously, I’m married. I think marriage taught me to settle a little bit. It does have a calming effect. I think it’s at what age you make that commitment.
‘When you hear about people in the ’50s getting married at 20, you’re like, What were they thinking? My grandparents were together for over 50 years.
‘My grandfather used to write one sentence every day in his journal: “I love Anne more than ever today.” I think that was his meditation – keeping him in his marriage, and also his appreciation for it. It was very touching.’
Genesis: Aniston and Theroux began dating when working together in 2012’s Wanderlust after meeting in 2007
A look back at Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux’s romance…
Where it all began: Jennifer and Justin first worked together on Wanderlust
Jennifer first met Justin through Ben Stiller, who co-wrote Tropic Thunder with him. She said of Justin at the time: ‘At first you think he could be like a serial killer, but he is actually the nicest person in the world.’
They worked together on a movie called Wanderlust. Justin was in a 14-year relationship with stylist Heidi Bivens at the time but there’s no suggestion that anything happened between him and Jennifer while they were still together.
The rumour mill went wild when Jennifer and Justin both appeared at the MTV Movie Awards afterparty in LA. They moved in together soon after.
Justin proposed to Jennifer on his 41st birthday. His rep told People magazine at the time: ‘Justin Theroux had an amazing birthday on Friday, receiving an extraordinary gift when his girlfriend, Jennifer Aniston, accepted his proposal of marriage.’ Jennifer later said: ‘Yes, I’m very happy. I’m extremely lucky, and I’m extremely happy.’
Lovely: The couple got married and said their vows in front of a small group of family and friends at a tent on their Bel Air property in 2015
The couple got married and said their vows in front of a small group of family and friends at a tent on their Bel Air property. An insider told Life & Style at the time that the wedding ‘wasn’t as big and traditional as Jen originally hoped for… it was unique and heartfelt, just like Jen and Justin.’ Justin later said: ‘It’s so much more special when it’s just your closest friends and family and it’s lovely. We wanted it to be a peaceful environment, you don’t want it to be hectic.’ The honeymooned in Bora Bora with a handful of close pals.
Jennifer told Glamour magazine she was sick of hearing pregnancy rumours about herself all the time. She said: ‘If your body is in a normal moment of having had a bite or two, or you’re having a moment of bloat, then there’s arrows circled around your stomach, telling you that you’re pregnant. Having a child, as we know, is no one’s business except the couple or individual that’s going through it. We’re seeing women through that very narrow lens so that if we don’t have a baby or a white picket fence, then we’re useless. That we’re not living up to our purpose, sadly… It’s shocking to me that we are not changing the conversation. Women need to support each other. We’ve come so far.’
Des res: Jennifer did a shoot showing off the inside of her home
At the end of last year, Jennifer and Justin split but kept it a secret. She also did a shoot showing off the inside of her home, suggesting they could be planning to sell the home, using the magazine spread as a way to show it off before it goes on the market. Justin was not present.
The couple were last pictured together in January, on holiday in Cabo, Mexico, after having already split, as they remain determined to stay the ‘best of friends.’ They announced the split publicly just two months later. They told ET: ‘In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation. This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year. We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship. Normally we would do this privately, but given that the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to convey the truth directly. Whatever else is printed about us that is not directly from us, is someone else’s fictional narrative. Above all, we are determined to maintain the deep respect and love that we have for one another.’
