Jennifer Aniston thinks it would be ‘nice’ to date someone ‘not necessarily in the industry’

Jennifer Aniston is exploring romance outside of Hollywood and thinks it would be ‘nice’ to date someone ‘not necessarily in the industry’

She’s never shied away from love.

And Jennifer Aniston thinks it would be ‘nice’ to date someone for once outside of the entertainment industry.

The 52-year-old actress chatted with PEOPLE about the ever-changing dating pool in Hollywood and how she’s keeping her options open.

When asked if relationships work between ‘public figures’ and private citizens, Jen was adamant that anything is possible.

‘Of course,’ Aniston, 52, said. ‘Absolutely. I mean, it’s happened. That’s what I’m sort of hoping for is not necessarily somebody in the industry itself.’

She added, ‘That’d be nice.’

Jennifer began dating Justin Theroux in 2011 and the couple became engaged the following year before getting married in 2015.

They announced their separation in February 2018 with a joint statement noting the split ‘was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year.’

Prior to her relationship with Theroux, Jennifer was married to Brad Pitt for nearly five years before ending things in 2005 after ‘much thoughtful consideration.’

And while Jennifer has love on the brain, she’s not interested in pursuing a relationship if it doesn’t happen organically.

‘Absolutely no,’ she said in June when asked if she would ever use dating apps. ‘I’m going to just stick to the normal ways of dating. Having someone ask you out. That’s the way I would prefer it.’

Aniston isn’t so much focused on getting married again, but is prioritizing being with a ‘fantastic partner.’

‘Oh God, I don’t know,’ she said. ‘It’s not on my radar. I’m interested in finding a fantastic partner and just living an enjoyable life and having fun with one another. That’s all we should hope for. It doesn’t have to be etched in stone in legal documents.’

Fans speculated for years that there was more than just on-screen chemistry with her Friends co-star David Schwimmer.

‘I could not believe that, actually. Like, really? That’s my brother! But I understand it, though,’ Aniston told Entertainment Tonight. ‘It just shows you how hopeful people are for fantasies for dreams to come true.’

He admitted to having a ‘major crush’ on her during the Friends reunion earlier this year, ‘but it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship and we never crossed that boundary. We respected that.’

She added: ‘Honestly, I remember saying one time to David, ‘It’s going to be such a bummer if the first time you and I actually kiss is going to be on national television.’ Sure enough, first time we kissed was in that coffee shop.’
