Jennifer Garner turns 51! Actress is surprised by balloons and key to her hometown as she stops by Drew Barrymore’s show to plug Last Thing He Told Me

Jennifer Garner turned 51-years-old on Monday.

And to celebrate, the star was met with multi colored balloons when stopping by The Drew Barrymore Show to plug her new series The Last Thing He Told Me.

The actress, who was supported by her boyfriend John Miller during a recent premiere, was also informed about a new holiday that had been started in her honor.

And the mother of three was given a key to her hometown. 

Also during the sit down interview, Garner said that Barrymore’s role in Charlie’s Angels inspired her work on Alias.

The Elektra star also wore a pair of jet-black high-heeled shoes and accessorized with numerous pieces of jewelry.

Her beautiful brunette locks fell towards her shoulders and paired well with the neutral tones of her outfit.

Although Barrymore surprised her guest with balloons and flowers for her birthday, she informed her that she had another trick up her sleeve. 

The 50 First Dates actress stated: ‘This surprise is very meaningful and it comes from your hometown of Charleston, West Virginia. From here on out April 17th will be known as Jennifer Garner Day in Charleston.’

Charleston’s mayor, Amy Goodwin, then made a special appearance to elaborate on the actress’ impact on her hometown, and the performer was also given the key to her hometown.

Barrymore, who donated $25,000 to Save The Children during the episode, and her guest went on to discuss the latter’s time on Alias, in which she starred from 2001 to 2006.

The performer then credited her friend’s work in Charlie’s Angels to take on such a physical role. 

‘You had shown me a new way. You had shown me something that I was like, “Wait that’s possible? Get me in there, I want to do that.’ So fun,” she said.

Garner then spoke about the difficulty of working on the action drama series.

She recalled: ‘Twenty-two episodes a year of every single lunch break I had somebody waiting for me to teach me a fight, teach me a language, to have a fitting…it was just so taxing, and it was also just heaven to do.’ 

Barrymore then changed the subject of conversation to the feature 13 Going on 30 and stated: ‘This movie means so much to me and my daughters, it meant so much to me when it came out and it means so much to us now.’

Garner then expressed that she previously had conversations with past castmates regarding the enduring quality of the movie.

‘I just knew that, we’ve talked about…how it kind of grows, because I think the kids who were thirteen when it came out are now thirty and god bless them,’ she said.
