But Jennifer Hawkins’s thunder was stolen at Derby Day on Saturday after Channel Seven racing presenter Francesca Cumani stepped out wearing the same dress.
The stylish British commentator began presenting from Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse in a Jonathan Simkhai cocktail frock, before slipping on a long black jacket after the model arrived.

All the talk on social media was about who wore the dress better, and if Francesca was told to cover up her dress.

One viewer suggested Francesca put on a jacket for reasons other than the weather, saying: ‘Did Jennifer Hawkins make Francesca cover up her dress?’
A Myer spokesperson said Francesca had to wear a brand stocked by the department store as part of an arrangement with Channel 7.
‘We are only aware of Jen’s brand which is Jonathan Simkhai. Francesca is not our talent. Channel 7 wardrobe manage her,’ the spokesperson told news.com.au on Saturday afternoon.
‘Contractually, Channel 7 talent must wear Myer brands. No further comment will be provided.’
