Jennifer Hawkins earns a tidy profit as she sells her Newcastle investment home for $840,000 after purchasing it for $345,000

Jennifer Hawkins is in the process of selling one of the last properties in her once extensive investment portfolio.

The Lake Macquarie district investment is a charming three-bedroom home in Minmi, about 20km from Newcastle’s centre, and is expected to fetch between $800,000 to $880,000.

Hawkins, 40, a Newcastle native, originally purchased the property for $345,000 in 2008, a year after securing a lucrative $4 million deal with Myer.

The single-level brick and tiled home sits on a generous 664 square metre block and features a back deck that overlooks a large lawn and a “man shed.”

The property enjoys the added benefit of backing onto a reserve, providing a serene and private setting.

According to realestate.com.au, Troy Duncan from First National Lake Macquarie Edgeworth is handling the sale, and he has highlighted the investment potential of the home, suggesting a rental return of approximately $700 per week.

This sale marks a significant moment in Hawkins’ property journey. In 2016, she sold another investment property, her very first purchase—a three-bedroom house in Merewether.

Bought for $469,000 in 2006, it was sold for $731,000, demonstrating Hawkins’ knack for profitable property investments.
