Jennifer Hudson glows in a pink mini-dress as she is honored for her body of work at fifth annual African American Film Critics Association TV awards

Jennifer Hudson was glowing as she arrived at the fifth annual African American Film Critics Association TV awards on Sunday in Santa Monica, California.

The EGOT winner, 42, was among the honorees being celebrated at the luncheon held at the Hotel Casa del Mar.

The talk show host received the We See You Award, for her ‘versatility’ and ‘consistent excellence’ throughout her music and acting career, as well as for hosting The Jennifer Hudson Show.

The Respect star showcased her shapely legs in a long sleeve pink mini dress with horizontal seams and a flounce hem. 

She walked the red carpet in a pair of gold pumps with thin gold straps.

Her makeup was natural and her dark hair was styled in a straight bob with a side part. 

The Tell It Like A Woman star accessorized with several rings made from large precious stones and wore wide framed glasses.

The winners were announced in June with the awards ceremonies scheduled for August, but were postponed due to the actors and writers strikes.

The AAFCA TV Honors were created in 2019 to recognize excellence in the Black community on television and streaming platforms.

Marla Gibbs, 92,  who starred in The Jeffersons and 227, received the Legend Award.  Delroy Lindo, 71, received the Legacy Award. 

S.W.A.T. received the Impact Award for the show’s storylines that impact the African American community and Ted Lasso was honored with the Inclusion Award for its ability to ‘prioritize representation of people from all walks of life.’

Other winners include: Abbott Elementary for Best TV Comedy. Star and show runner Quinta Brunson also won Best TV Writing. 

P-Valley received Best TV Drama and Best Ensemble and Mo was named Best New Show.

The 1619 project was named Best Documentary.

Peacock’s Shooting Stars and The Best Man: The Final Chapters earned awards for Best Movie and Best Limited Series.  Directing honors when to the folks calling the shots at The Ms. Pat Show. 

Acting awards went to Jessica Williams for her Breakout role in Shrinking, Niecy Nash-Betts was named Best Actress for her work in Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.

J. Alphonse Nicholson and Nicco Annan tied for Best Actor for their work in P-Valley.
